Australian travellers and travel advisors were given a closer look at a retrofitted Boeing 777 business class seat during the Flight Centre Travel Expo, as Emirates marked 30 years of operations in Australia.

The airline used the three-day event in Sydney to showcase its latest onboard products and global network, which connects Australia with nearly 140 destinations via Dubai. The Expo included a dedicated industry day before opening to the public across the weekend.

Adam D’Ambrosio, Emirates Regional Sales Manager, said the event provided an opportunity to demonstrate the updated business class product directly to travellers and industry partners.

“Our retrofitted Boeing 777 business class product reflects Emirates’ continued focus on product innovation and customer experience, as we continue working to further elevate our onboard and on-ground experiences,” Mr D’Ambrosio said.

Emirates currently operates 70 weekly services from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Of those, 56 weekly Australia–Dubai services now operate with newer or refreshed cabin products, including refurbished Airbus A380s and Airbus A350s, providing more than 5,000 premium economy seats each week across the five gateways.

The airline is continuing a $US5.5 billion aircraft retrofit program across its Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleets, alongside the rollout of technologies including Starlink Wi-Fi, new entertainment screens and wireless charging.

Since beginning Melbourne services in 1996, Emirates has expanded to five Aussie gateways and carried more than 40 million passengers between Australia and international destinations.
