Industry leaders from aviation, airports, government and security sectors are coming together for a major forum on border security.
Future Borders: Seamless and Secure is an industry luncheon hosted by the Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) in Sydney on March 24.
The event will explore how Australia can strengthen border security while delivering a seamless passenger experience ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Margy Osmond, TTF CEO, said the luncheon provides a timely opportunity for the industry to come together and discuss practical solutions that balance security, efficiency and passenger experience.
“Future Borders is the place for decision-makers to understand the operational challenges facing our border systems, hear from global experts and collaborate on solutions that will shape Australia’s aviation and visitor economy for years to come,” Ms Osmond said.
TTF will welcome Justin Erbacci, Director General and CEO of Airports Council International (ACI) World, as the keynote speaker.
Drawing on his international experience leading major airport operations in Saudi Arabia and the United States, Mr Erbacci will share insights into digitised processing, biometric solutions and integrated traveller systems, as well as lessons Australia can apply to its own border strategy.
The luncheon will also feature Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff, along with a panel of senior industry leaders, who will explore the challenges and possibilities associated with modernising Australia’s borders while supporting aviation growth and improving the end-to-end passenger experience.
With the 2032 Games approaching, Ms Osmond emphasised that it is vital for industry to act now.
“This is an opportunity to hear first-hand from experts, benchmark global best practice and discuss practical strategies to ensure our borders are seamless and secure,” she added.
“Every airport, airline and visitor-facing business has a stake in getting this right.”
