A new 30 day cruise in 2028 will take travellers from the Caribbean into the Amazon River, combining scenic river cruising, remote communities and an overnight stay in Manaus.
The Amazon Explorer: Rivers & Rainforests voyage will sail roundtrip from Miami aboard Seabourn Quest from November 18 to December 18, 2028, visiting 15 destinations across seven countries.
The itinerary will travel through the Caribbean before entering the Amazon, with calls including Santarém, Boca da Valeria, Parintins and Manaus. The overnight stay in Manaus will give guests additional time to explore the city’s markets, architecture, dining and waterfront.
Other destinations on the voyage include Devil’s Island in French Guiana, Gustavia in Saint Barthelemy, Trinidad and Grenada.
Mark Tamis, Seabourn President, said the itinerary had been designed to combine exploration of the Amazon with cultural experiences along the river.
“The Amazon is one of the world’s most fascinating destinations, offering a sense of exploration unlike anywhere else in the world,” Mr Tamis said.
“Seabourn Quest will take guests into the heart of the Amazon to discover its extraordinary landscapes, cultures and traditions.”
The voyage will also include scenic cruising along sections of the Amazon River, with opportunities to see rainforest landscapes and everyday life in riverside communities.
In Santarém, travellers can visit the area near the meeting of the Amazon and Tapajós rivers, while Boca da Valeria offers access to a small community surrounded by rainforest. Parintins adds another river port to the itinerary.
The sailing forms part of Seabourn’s 40th anniversary program in 2028 and will be followed by two 10 day Caribbean holiday voyages before Seabourn Quest departs Miami in January 2029 for its 138 day world cruise.
The ship will also sail following a major interior refurbishment covering suites, public spaces, dining venues and wellness areas.
