A surge in close-in Antarctica bookings, strong 2027 demand and early interest in a new expedition yacht have delivered the strongest single-day booking result in company history for Atlas Ocean Voyages.

The record was set on August 31, with bookings driven partly by last-minute demand for Antarctica departures this November and advance reservations for 2027 sailings.

Travel advisors have also been credited with supporting the company’s growth, including in Australia, where the brand is represented exclusively by Cruise Traveller.

Joe O’Sullivan, Cruise Traveller Managing Director, said advisors had played an important role in building awareness of Atlas locally.

“Travel agents were central to the growth of the Atlas brand in Australia,” Mr O’Sullivan said.

Cruise Traveller will attend Cruise360 in Sydney on September 17 and 18 to introduce the product to more Australian advisors.

Booking patterns are also showing increased demand for higher suite categories, including the Concierge Collection, according to Atlas.

Interest is building around Atlas Adventurer, which is scheduled to debut in Japan in November 2028 as the first Atlas-class vessel. Around 50% of the yacht’s Owner’s Suites have already been reserved.

The ship will initially operate voyages across Asia and Africa before moving into the Mediterranean in 2029, with further details about its onboard social and dining spaces expected later this year.

Atlas is also expanding its Fly the Drake program for the 2027–28 Antarctica season and plans to release its 2028–29 Antarctica program in early October.

James Rodriguez, Atlas Ocean Voyages President and CEO, said travel advisor advocacy had been a major factor in the company’s recent momentum.

“Agents’ confidence in our product, their support of our growth and their ability to introduce Atlas to the right luxury travellers have been instrumental in building this momentum,” Mr Rodriguez said.
