Tourism operators, employers, training providers and industry stakeholders are being invited to contribute to a review of three key tourism qualifications, with a consultation survey now open until June 5, 2026.
Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA), the Jobs and Skills Council responsible for the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package, is seeking feedback to update the following qualifications in line with current and emerging industry requirements: the Certificate III in Tourism, the Certificate III in Travel and the Certificate III in Guiding.
The consultation will explore the suitability and currency of current knowledge and skills within the training package, additional skills that should be included, assessment requirements and implementation considerations including licensing, regulatory requirements and award wage impacts.
Feedback gathered through the survey will inform the early drafting process and help shape the future direction of these qualifications.
The survey closes at 5pm AEST on Friday June 5, 2026. Take the survey.
