Alone Australia runner-up and wilderness guide Suzan Muir will lead a new women-only journey on Tasmania’s Flinders Island next year.

The six-day experience combines wilderness walking with workshops, conversation and time to slow down and reconnect with nature, drawing on Muir’s decades of off-grid living, guiding and hard-won lessons in resilience, confidence and self-trust.

Ms Muir became widely known after spending 63 days in extreme wilderness conditions during Season 2 of Alone Australia.

“There is something very powerful about women spending time together in the wild,” Ms Muir said. “When we step away from the noise and demands of everyday life, we create space to listen, to notice what is around us and to learn from each other.”

The Flinders Island program follows a previous women-focused wilderness experience led by Muir on the Larapinta Trail.

For the new journey, some walking and activities have been reduced to create a slower paced, centre based itinerary.

Across the six days Ms Muir will draw on her own experiences to explore confidence, resilience, self trust and the relationship between people and the natural environment, with conversations intended to develop alongside the walking program.

Flinders Island will provide the setting for the experience, with its granite mountains, beaches and remote coastline forming the backdrop to daily walks and workshops.

The ‘Women, Wild & Wise: Tasmania’s Flinders Island with Suzan Muir’ journey is priced from $4,990 per person twin share and will run from March 7 to 12, 2027.

Single-use tents are available for solo travellers at no additional charge, subject to availability.
