Samanea Group has officially opened Samanea Wellness Resort, Cambodia’s first luxury wellness retreat set within the pristine Cardamom Mountains of Pursat Province.

Now open for bookings, the 40 hectare resort marks the Group’s latest destination led wellness concept and follows the success of Samanea Beach Resort and Spa in Kep, which opened in 2018 and has become one of the country’s leading coastal retreats.

The launch comes as Cambodia continues to experience a strong tourism rebound, welcoming around 6.7 million international visitors in recent years. With growing demand for slower and more intentional travel, Pursat Province is emerging as an appealing destination for eco tourism and nature based escapes, offering unspoilt landscapes and deep cultural roots.

Designed as a holistic sanctuary for restoration and self discovery, Samanea Wellness Resort is guided by three core pillars: wellness, nutrition and sustainability. The resort features 32 private villas set within natural surrounds, each designed with comfort and environmental responsibility in mind. Interiors incorporate premium sustainably produced Getha mattresses to support physical recovery and deep rest.

Facilities include a fitness house, ozone pool, wellness sanctuary, signature restaurant, lounge and an organic river farm that underpins the resort’s farm to table dining philosophy.

Wellness experiences focus on restorative treatments and immersive nature based therapies tailored for individuals, couples and groups. These are complemented by a curated nutrition programme celebrating authentic Khmer cuisine made with locally grown and foraged ingredients.

Sustainability is central to the resort’s operations, with 30 per cent of the property powered by solar energy alongside conservation initiatives and the use of locally sourced eco friendly products. A one per cent mandatory guest contribution supports community and environmental CSR projects.

Beyond the resort, guests can explore the Cardamom Mountains through curated experiences including jungle trekking, eco motorbike trails, village immersions, boat fishing excursions and guided wildlife encounters such as the rare Siamese crocodile night watch.

Samanea Wellness Resort also places a strong emphasis on meaningful travel, creating connections between guests, local communities and the environment through agritourism experiences and community volunteering initiatives.
