Luxury river and ocean cruising will step up a notch in 2027, with Uniworld Boutique River Cruises and Seabourn bringing back their popular back to back itineraries that sold out on their last outing.
The pairing once again combines Uniworld’s S S La Venezia on the Venetian Lagoon with Seabourn Ovation in the Mediterranean, giving guests a seamless way to experience both river and ocean in one extended holiday.
Uniworld And Seabourn Reunite On The Med
The two cruise lines are offering three extended journeys in 2027, designed for travellers who want immersive itineraries with a high level of inclusions and personalised service.
The Wonders of the Adriatic and the Venetian Lagoon is a 16 day itinerary from Piraeus in Athens to Venice. It starts with an eight night voyage on Seabourn Ovation from Athens to Fusina, calling at ports in Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia in all suite comfort, before guests transfer into Venice to board S S La Venezia for a slow exploration of the Venetian Lagoon, including Burano and Chioggia.
The Best of Italy, Croatia and Malta is another 16 day journey, this time from Venice to Rome. Guests begin on S S La Venezia, one of the only luxury ships permitted to sail the Venetian Lagoon, with privileged access to Venice and its islands, then continue on Seabourn Ovation for a coastal sailing taking in Croatia, the Greek isles and Sorrento.
For those with extra time, The Best of Italy, Croatia and Malta with Slovenia stretches to 19 days from Ljubljana to Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. The trip opens with three nights in Ljubljana and day tours to Lake Bled and Postojna Caves, followed by seven nights on S S La Venezia in the Venetian Lagoon and a short transfer to Fusina to board Seabourn Ovation for ports in Malta, Sicily and mainland Italy.
Strong Demand From Australian Market
Alice Ager, Uniworld’s managing director for Australia and New Zealand, says the decision to relaunch the packages was driven by agent and guest demand. She notes that last year’s editions sold out and that bookings have already come in from agents ahead of the product even going live on Uniworld’s website.
Seabourn’s senior director of sales, Alex Pikadt, adds that the combinations have resonated strongly with the line’s travel agent partners in Australia and are proving particularly attractive to luxury travellers. His team expect the 2027 departures to be very popular in this market.
What Guests Can Expect On Board

Seabourn, part of Carnival Corporation, is known for its intimate ships with a yacht like ambience, all oceanfront suites, intuitive service, complimentary premium drinks and caviar, and a focus on high end dining with open seating and no charge venues.
